What is Hedge Funds Care?
Hedge Funds Care (HFC), established in 1998, is a grantmaking public charity that supports efforts to prevent and treat child abuse. Funds are raised primarily through annual Open Your Heart to the Children benefits planned by a regional "Committee of Hearts" in New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, Denver, Toronto, London and the Cayman Islands and personal donations. Funds raised are granted locally through a rigorous "Request for Proposal" process, which identifies programs providing best of practice services focused on saving children from the trauma of abuse. An academic consultant then monitors each program to ensure effective utilization of the Hedge Funds Care grant.

Who is involved from the hedge fund community?
Hedge fund industry professionals, including fund managers, investors, prime brokers, attorneys, accountants, technology providers, and administrators are involved in Hedge Funds Care. Members of this community make up each location's Committee of Hearts.

How is my donation used?                                                                                                                                                        Funds raised in each city are granted locally and support programs that are working to alleviate child abuse by providing:

EDUCATION to enhance awareness and understanding of abuse and neglect for children, parents, and professionals in the community

PREVENTION services to at-risk children and families

TREATMENT for children who have been physically or sexually abused and support services to non-offending family members

RESEARCH on best practices in child welfare

ADVOCACY to improve child welfare

How can my company become a sponsor?
We are happy to assist potential sponsors in determining their outreach focus for child abuse prevention, be it globally-focused throughout our branches and affiliates or locally-focused on individual areas. Our Global Sponsors represent our greatest supporters, and are partners with us in preventing and treating child abuse internationally. Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes - Hedge Funds Care is approved by the IRS for 501(c)(3) not-for-profit status, and all donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law in the United States. Donations to Hedge Funds Care Canada, a Public Foundation registered with the Canada Revenue Agency, are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. For donations to Hedge Funds Care Cayman and Hedge Funds Care UK, we recommend that you consult your attorney or tax adviser about how these donations apply to your specific tax situation.
